Access. Advocacy. Awareness.
Black Girls Fighting Cancer is a national initiative under Stiletto Boss Foundation dedicated to ensuring women navigating cancer — any diagnosis — have access to support, resources, advocacy, and community.
We believe no woman should walk this journey unseen, unheard, or unsupported.
The reality
Women of Color face higher mortality rates for several cancers, including breast cancer, and are often diagnosed at later stages. Systemic barriers, delayed access to care, and gaps in culturally responsive support contribute to these outcomes.
But beyond statistics, there is another reality:
Women navigating cancer frequently experience isolation, fear, and emotional strain, often without a community that understands their lived experience.
The Gap
Women of Color experience higher mortality rates across multiple cancer diagnoses.
Medical systems treat the disease.
Communities must support the woman.
Many women:
-
Do not have strong emotional support networks
-
Struggle to navigate complex healthcare systems
-
Face financial and logistical stress during treatment
-
Feel unseen in traditional support spaces
BGFC exists to bridge that gap.
